Whoa! It’s been too long since I’ve posted a video. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I think Tango would be most appropriate, don’t you? Here’s a fun, flashy Argentine Tango performance with a sense of humor for your viewing pleasure.
Tango dancers, what’s your opinion? Too much? I’m *not* a tango expert by any means, but I enjoyed this video because the dancers obviously had fun with it. Although Argentine Tango is one of the most elegant dances I’ve ever seen, it does appear too often to be a bit too serious for my taste. How do you feel about it?

While I am not a fan of competitiion,professional dancing,(much to stuffy) and over the top , I did enjoy this, playful, well danced and entertaining.

That was adorable and gorgeous. It might have been a little over the top (I’m a swing dancer, so I don’t know any better), but that’s what I love about dancing in the first place, so I loved it.

I think it’s fantastic. Too often, like you said, tango is made to be some pretentious high-brow dance, when that’s not its origins at all.
Plus, as far as I’m concerned, if you know the rules - which this couple seems to - then they are made to be broken!

Hi!!! You are right, this is a really nice and fun choreographed performance of argentine tango. In agree, the dancers are great, and really enjoying themselves, and it’s difficult not to enjoy the ride with them!!! One thing I love about tango, however, it is how beautiful it can be when danced as an improvisation. That’s another aspect of it, but part of what makes it truly magical.
Just one clarification: strictly speaking, the dancers in the video are not dancing tango, but milonga–which is much more rythmic and fast-paced than tango, but very interlinked with it. The way in which milonga is danced is a bit different from tango, but still very close. In social tango dances (also called “Milongas”) there are usually 3 types of music played, in sets of 3-4 songs, called tandas. These tandas are mostly tangos, but every several set of tango tandas, DJ’s usually include a set of milongas or a set of tango valses.
