Universal Etiquette Rules: wash your hands

February 7th, 2008 · 1 Comment

When you go social dancing, you’ll be touching many people you know, and many you don’t. Nobody will really know if you washed your hands before the dance, unless you leave them dripping wet - but your partners will not appreciate that, I can assure you. This may not be thought of as etiquette, since no one will know, but it goes right along with protecting your partner. Let’s protect each other from germs, and not just bangs and bomps on the dance floor.

I totally agree. Too many times have I danced with a guy who’s hands are dripping wet, not from washing, but from sweat! It makes for a bad partner connection, if he’s trying to spin me and my hand slides off his nasty sweaty hand and I go spinning off into the abyss. So, handwashing = good. I also carry around a small bottle of hand sanitizer that I apply after every few dances.
