Pointers to Keep You Having Fun

February 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment

SageWe’ve looked at motivation before. As you know, I dance because I think it’s fun. Recently though, I’ve posted about some struggles I’ve faced in my dancing. Gretchen Rubin, who authors The Happiness Project, has once again posted an article that I think can relate to us as dancers. She titles the post “Six questions to help you stay serene,” but I think they also apply very well to the emotional battles that can interfere with our dancing.

She uses these questions to keep from losing her temper, but imagine applying these same questions when social dancing, learning, practicing, or teaching. Here are a few of them, but I’d recommend you go check out the original post

  • Am I at fault?
  • Will this solve anything?
  • Am I improving the situation?
  • and more…

What do you think? How can you apply these questions to your dancing?

*The photo is of my newest niece… between 2-4 a.m., another time when Gretchen’s questions may be useful!

You probably are not at fault.

    Depends on what is wrong,

only if you offer to change diapers and feed at ungodly hours in the AM
