Do ya’ like the reference in the title? I’ve never actually played the game, but I love watching it.
It’s already four days into the new year, and I’m finally posting. Thanks for your patience. I know I’m a little late to jump on the resolution band-wagon, but I figured I should try to come up with some dance related resolutions for the new year.
*While on the way to a dance last night I was thinking a lot about the concept of “getting better.” I’ve had this goal for my dancing so often, but what do I really mean by it? I’ve decided not to included “getting better” to my list this year - and not again unless I have something more concrete or specific to work on in regards to getting better.
*I want to always remember that I’m there to have fun. Last night, I had to go to the dance, even though it had been a long tiring day and I really would have rather gone to bed. But, we (my husband and I) had committed to teaching the drop-in lesson so we had to go. We stuck around after the lesson for part of the dance. Even though I felt miserable, tired and sick, I put a smile on my face and gladly accepted every invitation to dance. (Except for the one that happened after I’d already changed back into my street shoes… sorry sir.) I even smiled while on the dance floor. I’m there to have fun. The person I’m dancing with is there to have fun. I can lay my garbage aside for the duration of a song and simply smile and move. I’d like to keep that up throughout the year.
*I need to improve my work on this site. I most certainly want to post more interviews. So far, they seem to be a favorite of both mine and readers. Along with more interviews, I’d like to have some guest writers post on this blog, as well as write/submit articles for others.
What are your dance-related resolutions for 2008?
