Now that you’re read a bit of what Jojo has to say, why not check out her dancing? This is her and Dax Hock demonstrating the Tranky Doo - a dance loaded with classic vernacular jazz steps. How many can you name?

Whoa! It’s been too long since I’ve posted a video. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I think Tango would be most appropriate, don’t you? Here’s a fun, flashy Argentine Tango performance with a sense of humor for your viewing pleasure.

Video: Carolina Shag

Not many states out there have an official State Dance, but in the Caronlina’s, Shag is it. I really regret not learning it when I lived in Raleigh. I was too busy salsa dancing, I guess. I love how smooth the movement is in this dance.
This video features Doug Silton and Ginger Pickeral.

You’ve been reading what she has to say, but have you been watching her dance? The link you can’t really see under the YouTube logo is for lindylibrary.com, where a lot of great contemporary footage of the Lindy Hop scene can be found.

Unfortunately, I’m having trouble embedding this video, so I’ll just have to settle for giving you the link. Please enjoy:

Here are some more great stylings of Dean’s from much later: 1983! This one […]

Video: Lindy Hop Performance, The Silver Shadows at ULHS

There are times, of course, when people WILL be watching you: performances. Performances can be a great way to share your love of dance with others. Events like the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown are wonderful for this sort of thing. (Just remember not to “perform” on the social dance floor.)
Here’s a video of a performance […]
